“Snow Flower”
Chapter: “Winter”
This chapter tells the difficult times that Lily, Snow Flower, and Snow Flower’s family had in the mountain during the winter time. Through the charter we might see how difficult it could be during winter time and the hard situations that ancient Chinese had to face. “Winter” also lets us see how Snow Flower's life was and how rude her husband was with her. It shows us how strong she  had to be in order to endure the death of her son and the loss of the one who she was pregnat with because the domestic violence that she suffered. Even through the bad times  Snow Flower  and Lily got the strength to keep going without complains and sharing everything. In a strange way, this chapter shows the love that fathers had for their sons and the kind of fear that they had to have a baby girl. The love that Lily had for Snow Flower is a feeling that is showed in this chapter, as well as how much she tried to keep Chinese’s customs about the place of everyone in the family. In conclusion “Winter” is a chapter that lets us see how people may act in bad times and shows us that real friendship keeps two persons together no matter how bad times may be.

Together

“Together” is a movie directed by Chen Kaige who tells the storu of Lui Xiaogun and his father Lui Cheg. The story takes place in Beijing, at 1999; it tells the sacrifices made it for Lui Cheg for his son who is a young genius of the violin. With only thirteen years old Lui Xiaogun is a Chinese boy who has been playing since he was five years old. Working hard Liu Cheg achieve to save enough money to get his son in a musical contest that will take place in Beijing.  In the contest the young violinist got the fifth place although he deserved the first. After that Liu Cheg got a professor for his son an old man who encourages Lui Xiaogun to play from his heart. After some time Lui Cheg realize that to get his son to the coups of the musical world he will need to know someone who knows someone else with influences; therefore, he change his son’s professor  for a rich and successful violin professor  and compositor  who take Lui Xiaogun as pupil and  get him just to the top. Under his new professor the young violinist will become greater, but when the time comes and Lui Xiaogun had to choose between his father and his own success as musician he run into his father’s hand.
