Miami Book Fair International 2011

Miami Book Fair International 2011
The “Miami Book Fair” is an excellent event that takes place every year in downtown Miami. It is a wonderful opportunity for readers to search for new and used book, comic novels and more. Not only are there books, but there are also live bands, food stands, live entertainment, plays and games for kids. At the “Miami Book Fair”, fair goers might see and listen to an author talk about his or her book and even ask him or her questions; therefore it is a great chance to interact with writers and artists that meet there. Writers come from all over the world to show off their work and get others’ points of view on their work. “Miami Book Fair” is a cultural exchange that allows fair goers to experiment different cultures first hand. For example China held a discussion session about its language and its culture; as well as, its traditional medicine and its philosophical thinking. Although the United States and China are on opposite sides of the world, through the “Miami Book Fair” both counties are able to interact and learn about each others’ cultures as a way of the opening of China to the world. In the “Miami Book Fair” Chinese parades were held that showed off the colorful, splendid and exotic traditions that can be found in China. Overall, the Miami Book Fair was a great place to go if you wanted to find great writing, art, and food from others countries, and diverse cultural expressions.

Qin Shihuang-di was born in 259 B.C.in the state of Qin, one of the seven states into China was divided into at that time. Being only thirteen years old, he became king of the state of Qin. When Qin Shihuang-di turned 36 years old, he had fought and united the seven states into a whole kingdom known as China. The First Emperor of China, brought a new order to the united China, improving many things .He is responsible for the unification of the coinage system and the standardization of the weight, measure, and the Chinese script. He gave the order to start building The Great Wall, and built a major communication system compound by roads and canals through the China. As many other leaders in other places and time in the world history, QinShihuang-di built a tomb for himself .Qin Shihuang  di died in 210 B.C., and he is still resting in one of the great wonder on the world . The first Emperor‘s tomb was built in the center of an enclosed "spirit city." It contained sacred stone tablets, inscribed towers, and prayer temples. All of these structures were part of the "inner city" within a walled square more than a quarter mile long on each side. In addition to that, outside the city, in the east part were set more than 7,000 life size figures of warriors, an army of terracotta figures that would protect the tomb in the afterlife, therefore it is now known as China’s Terracotta Army. Qing Shihuang di’s tomb was found in 1974, and it has become one of China’s cultural treasures because it is still giving us information about the political, philosophical, and artistic life of ancient Chinese people.
